I finally got to see some Remington and Russell art. They both did sculpture and they both painted. Beautiful. The painting of the shoot out at the saloon is a Russell. The second is by Remington. Sculptures are Remington’s. Unfortunately this museum is doing some construction and upgrades so this exhibit is very small right now and most of the collection is in storage. The man who originally owned all this art, Amon Carter, started buying them in the early 1900s. He ended up having over 400 pieces, or so they say. Based on his final wishes, his family created this museum to house his amazing collection.
